The reason the novels of Child and Preston are so good is that they give the reader a glimmer of the possibility that the supernatural events that they are reading about might just be possible. Not with this writer. Totally unbelievable.

Another great piece of action/adventure formula well applied. Rollins knows thrills, and delivers them in a comfortable and predictable way. This title is not as strong as his other classic "Subterranean", but it's a solid read nonetheless.

I was indeed bleary eyed from reading so much. I just couldn't put this book down. I kept turning pages because I just had to know what happened next.
If you love adventure, this is the book for you.

I enjoyed this book because of the fast action and excellent style of writing. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read. I will be reading many more of Mr Rollins books.

Fast-paced, articulate and always a mesmerizing underlying idea to ponder. That's why James Rollins is one of my favorite novelist. Whatever the premise, his storyline and word choices draw you in until, at the end, you are a believer.
And hungry for more.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Although I know it is fiction, there are a lot of fact-based historical realities in it. I love to read about history and also archaeology, so this was a good fit for me. I thought it was well-thought out, as are all of James Rollins books and he is one of my favorite authors. He always piques my imagination,.

I bought this book with great expectations. I feel the stilted conversations, and completely unbelievable situations, with little regard for history combine to make this book unreadable. I've quit at page 292, unable to endure the torture for another page.

You simply cannot go wrong with a James Rollins book! I have read every title he has written. Some are better than others, but they all have a unique subject line and his research into said subjects is thorough. Excavation is intriguing!!

I love & read everything from this author, however, Rollins definitely missed the mark. Poor character development, felt like it was a forced read. Somewhat interesting, but this reader had no difficulty placing the book down.

Mr. Rollins writes in a very crisp, clear, and fast moving pace. It also had very interesting twists and unexpected turns. The characters could have been flushed out a little more. I found myself wanting to know more about their past and how they came to be on that excavation. Overall, I found it very enjoyable.
